I benefit when lending my CDs to our kid. He always returns them with a sticky note naming the tracks that he likes and ranking them (a circle around the track, an asterisk on the circle). It’s great as I tend to collect music too fast to give everything a good listen. The last package returned included a Northern Soul album with a highlighted Ella Fitzgerald cover of “Get Ready” which reminded me of this revered Cream cover.

Like everyone else, Holden Caulfield was my first taste of Salinger, but it’s the Glass family that featured in so many of his short stories that haunt me the most.

Here is a source for his works that are not currently in print.

While looking at Pernell Roberts clips, I came across this vintage commercial. I remember seeing it as a kid and was heartbroken that these toys were not made available in Canada.

Johnny West on the other hand was available here and between my brother and sister we had a lot of the characters locked up.
